National Interprofessional Healthcare Month

April is National Interprofessional Healthcare Month.
I learn every single day from other professionals.  Moreover, an important part of the profession of Speech Language Pathology is educating our colleagues too.  I love sharing all the hard work experts in my field have toiled over. Pictured above is an in-service I did for Provo Rehab after transitioning from the National Dysphagia Diet (NDD) to a new food texture protocol.
The International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) is a framework developed to promote consistency in food textures and liquids across facilities.
Notice there’s no color red in the pyramid?  That’s because red is often used to symbolize danger and my cause alarm in some cultures.
If you or a loved one are having difficulty swallowing and would like an evaluation to determine the optimal textures for your swallow function, reach out to Live Well Speech Therapy for a free consultation.  We serve Utah County.
