4. Evidence-Based Practices
The clinic utilizes evidence-based therapy techniques, ensuring that clients benefit from the latest research and best practices in the field of speech therapy.
5. Comprehensive Services
With aging comes a myriad of possible health challenges. Jackie is experienced in assessing and treating a wide variety of diagnoses, from dysphagia (swallowing impairment), aphasia (language impairment), articulation disorders, dysarthria (weakness of muscles in articulators), cognition, and voice.
6. Positive Client Outcomes
Live Well Speech Therapy has a track record of successful client outcomes, with testimonials and success stories highlighting the effectiveness of its therapies. Here’s what some of our clients have said:
“Jackie has been amazing. She was wonderful to work with. I had to have extensive speech therapy and wasn’t able to swallow properly. In about 2 months time, she has helped me build up my throat muscles and I am able to swallow again. I can’t thank you enough for giving me a second chance at living a normal life again!”
“My dad suffered a stroke in April 2023 and lost most of his ability to speak. At 96-years-old we were doubtful that he would be able to recover his speech. These doubts were reinforced when we were told by the staff at a Skilled Nursing Facility after a month of rehab, that he would not get better. We moved dad back to his Assisted Living Facility and hired Jackie Larsen to work with dad. She has worked wonders with my dad and he can hold conversations with us and tell stories like he used to. Thanks Jackie, for your skill and patience!”
“As my Parkinson’s disease has progressed, I have experienced difficulties in voice volume, articulation, and breathiness. I found myself avoiding social situations and seldom participated in conversations. Jackie Larsen has helped me identify my areas of difficulty and taught me strategies using activities to remediate these deficits. She gently prodded me to go beyond my comfort level. I quickly progressed in my ability to speak with greater volume. I am now participating in social conversations without listeners constantly asking me to repeat. I was not aware that I wasn’t producing speech with adequate volume until Jackie monitored my decibels on her computer screen, thus providing me with instant feedback. I also experience some respiratory and swallowing problems as a result of poor muscle activation (bradykinesia and hypokinesia). The glide activities up and down the scale helped strengthen my larynx. Due to Jackie’s excellent teaching skills and enthusiastic presentations, I am able to “graduate” with improved speech and swallowing.”
7. Family-Centered Approach
Live Well Speech Therapy likely values family involvement in the therapy process. By incorporating family members into treatment plans and providing education and support, the clinic helps clients achieve better outcomes. Caregivers are welcome to participate in treatment and Jackie will provide exercises and strategies to carry over the training and education provided during treatment sessions.
8. Specialized Certifications and Training
Jackie is certified in VitalStim, an FDA-approved neuromuscular electro-stimulation treatment for swallowing impairments. She has used this approach to help patients who are surviving on only a feeding tube progress to being to eat Thanksgiving dinner with their family.
9. We Accept Most Major Insurances
Live Well Speech Therapy is credentialed with most major insurances. We also accept Private Pay via Square or Check. Due to HIPAA, we are not able to accept Venmo.
10. Commitment to Lifelong Learning
Jackie has received multiple awards for going above and beyond the required “quota” of continuing education. She attends seminars several times a year to learn the latest in interventions to benefit her clients.
